Mdou Moctar is a contemporary Nigerien musician whose music graced the ears of western audiences on the Music From Saharan Cellphones compilations, released by Sahel Sounds. Now, Sahel Sounds presents a stunning collaboration between Moctar and BRAINSTORM, in which BRAINSTORM reinterprets Mdou's auto-tuned single "Anar," transcribing the lyrics into English and titling the track "Vanessa."
